Cookies Policy Statement

Here at MyTruDate, one of our top priorities is to protect your personal data to the fullest extent possible. We strive to make our User's experience as robust as possible. In furtherance of both goals, we publish this Cookies Policy in a spirit of transparency so all Users can understand how we collect information about their use of our Platform. For more information on how we handle your personal data, see our Privacy Policy. You are free to adjust your cookie settings at any time.

By continuing to use our App and/or Website, you are agreeing to our use of cookies and other tracking technologies, which may include data exchange and/or disclosure with third parties.

What are “Cookies” and why do we use them?

Unlike desserts we all love, "cookies" are small text files containing unique identifiers that are used to store small pieces of information on your computer or mobile device. We use cookies and similar technologies when you use the MyTruDate mobile application (including the desktop version) ("App") or the MyTruDate website, www.mytrudate.com ("Website").

We may also use other technologies such as web beacons (also called pixels), tracking URLs and software development kits (SDKs) for similar purposes as cookies. Web beacons are files that contain a unique identifier that enable us to recognize when someone has accessed content on our Platform. Tracking URLs are unique links that help us understand where visitors to our Platform are coming from. SDKs are small pieces of code included in applications, which function like cookies and web beacons. For the purposes of this Policy, we refer to these technologies collectively as "Cookies".

They allow us to recognize you and your preferences each time you visit the MyTruDate Platform. Some cookies ensure the functioning of the MyTruDate App and Website which in turn allows us to provide the services that our Users request and to improve your user experience.

How does MyTruDate use cookies?

MyTruDate uses Cookies that fall into five categories:

  1. Strictly necessary Cookies

These Cookies are necessary for the App and Website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems, or our App and Website will not work properly. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request of services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms, making payments, uploading photographs, or chatting. You can always control the website’s strictly necessary Cookies in your browser, as explained below.

We also use Cookies to help keep MyTruDate and our members safe and secure. These Cookies do things like protect MyTruDate users from spam and fraud by ensuring the safety of your personal data when you pay for things on TruDate like MyTruDate’s premium services.

We may use persistent Cookies, which will help us to ensure we have identified that the same device is logging in to the correct account. These types of Cookies also help with our anti-spam measures and help us to prevent phishers, scammers, unauthorized login attempts to your account and accessing any hacked accounts.

Some of these strictly necessary Cookies are from third parties, as some social media platforms can be used as an entry point to register for our services.

2. Analytics Cookies

These Cookies allow us to collect information about how visitors interact with our App and website. We use this information to compile reports and to help measure and improve the performance of the App and website.

MyTruDate uses Google Analytics to collect information about how visitors use the MyTruDate Site. We use the information to compile reports and to help us improve the Site or App. The Cookies collect information in an aggregated form, including the number of visitors to the Site or App, where visitors have come to the Site from and the pages they visited.

  1. Social Media Cookies

These Cookies help provide experiences, such as links to other social media websites, including making it easier for you to share content between MyTruDate and your other preferred social networks.

In some cases, the Site feature you choose may allow a third party to place Cookies on your device.

  1. Advertising Cookies

These Cookies may be set on our Website and App by us or our advertising partners. They may be used to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on our App and Website or other websites you visit, as well as to improve reporting on any advertising campaign and to avoid showing you ads that you have already seen.

  1. Performance Cookies

These Cookies may be set on our Website and App by us or our marketing services providers. They help us and our marketing services providers improve and measure the effectiveness of MyTruDate ads on other apps and websites. For example, they help us understand which MyTruDate ads lead people to download our App or sign-up for MyTruDate. You can find out more information about this in our Privacy Policy (under the heading “Sharing your personal data with Marketing Services Providers”).

How long do Cookies last, and can third parties use them?

Cookies last for different periods of time depending on which of the following two categories they fall into:

  • Session cookies – these cookies only last as long as your online session, and expire when you close your browser (for example Internet Explorer or Safari).

  • Persistent cookies – these cookies stay on your device after your browser has been closed. These cookies are used when we need to remember you for more than one browsing session, for instance to remember your preferences from one visit to the next.

Third Party Service Providers

We work with third-party products and/or services (“Service Providers”) to offer and present our App and/or Site to you. These Service Providers help us track and analyze our user activity, measure the effectiveness of our advertising efforts, and support the optimization of our digital marketing campaigns and carry out targeted advertising campaigns.

Our Service Providers may get more information about your activity, including pages you visit, access times, visit duration, how you arrived at our App and/or Site and your IP address. An IP address is a number that identifies a device connected to the internet. For most devices, the IP address changes on at least a weekly basis. Our Service Providers may also get device identifiers and specific information about the browser you use. In some cases, this information may be unique to you. We may share and/or sell your information collected from you on the App and/or Site with third party vendors, advertising companies, or analytics providers. The App and/or Site also participates in targeted advertising wherein it contracts with Service Providers  to collect certain information when you visit the App and/or Site to provide measurement services and target ads to users. These companies use information collected from the App and/or Site (e.g., click stream information, browser type, time and date, subject of advertisements clicked or scrolled over, hardware or software information, cookie and session ID) and personal information (e.g., IP address) during your visits to the App and/or Site and other websites in order to tailor advertisements about goods and services to you. These Service Providers typically use a cookie, third party web beacon, or other similar tracking technologies to collect this information. The App and Site also work with third parties that collect information across various channels including, but not limited to, computers, mobile devices, and other connected devices, over time, for advertising, analytics, attribution, and reporting purposes. Your data may be transferred outside the country from which it was originally collected. Our Site provides you with the option to opt out of targeted advertising via its cookie preferences. To learn more about this type of advertising or to opt-out of this type of advertising, click here [insert hyperlink to https://www.aboutads.info/choices].

For more information about how targeted advertising works, you can visit the Network Advertising Initiative’s (“NAI”) educational website here [insert hyperlink to https://thenai.org/].

Please note that third parties (including, for example, advertising networks and providers of external services like web traffic analysis services) may also use cookies, over which we have no control. These cookies are likely to be analytical/performance cookies or targeting cookies.

Our Site may also use pixels which are HTML code snippets that are loaded when a user visits a website or opens an email. It is useful for tracking user behavior and activity. With a tracking pixel, advertisers can get data for online marketing, web analysis or email marketing. If such data is analyzed in a particular way, the data collected through these pixels can be used for other purposes as well, for example retargeting/behavioral advertising.

If you’d like to disable these tracking pixels, there are a number of ways in which you can prevent your data from being collected by tracking pixels:

  • Set browser and email settings to be as restrictive as possible such that external graphics are only supported after permission, and HTML emails are not supported. Appropriate firewall settings can also do this.

  • Some browser extensions can be used to make tracking pixels visible (e.g., PixelBlock, uBlock Origin, HTTPS Everywhere, etc.).

How can you refuse or withdraw consent to the use of Cookies?

You can control cookies on your devices and may refuse to accept Cookies at any time by managing your preferences in the “Manage Cookies” section of the App or website, or by altering the settings on your internet browser (for example Internet Explorer, Chrome and Firefox).

When using our App, you are also in control and may refuse to accept Cookies at any time by managing your Privacy Preferences in your Profile in the App (under “Settings” > “Security & Privacy” > “Privacy Settings” on iOS and Android).

Most internet browsers accept cookies by default, but you can change your browser preferences to block or restrict cookies if you do not want your web browsing activity tracked. Please note that some cookies are necessary for our Site to run and, as such, cannot be declined. If you choose, you may use the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) WebChoices Tool [insert hyperlink to https://optout.aboutads.info/?c=2&lang=EN] to globally opt out of third-party tracking via website cookies. There are also a variety of other tools publicly available to manage cookies and similar technologies that collect information related to your use of our Site. We are not responsible for the effectiveness or compliance of third-party opt-out mechanisms or programs. Please note that if you remove your cookies or upgrade your browser after having opted out, you will need to opt out again. Your opt out is specific to the browser you are using and the device you use to access the Site. Therefore, if you use multiple browsers or devices you will need to opt out on each browser or device. You can access the information on our Site without enabling cookies in your browser, but disabling cookies may result in a diminished ability to take advantage of the services and related informational content on our Site.
